Writing has been another important cornerstone of my career. Whether it's my popular lifestyle blog, weekly column at the Lowell Sun, or my recent pursuit as a published author, I have been connecting with readers for the past two decades.

I like to think I write in an easy-to-read, honest, authentic voice.

By 2003, with my business, success, and reputation growing, I was asked to write a monthly article on decorating for a local paper. At the time, I was living in Pelham, New Hampshire.  A few years later, my move to the American Textile History Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts, resulted in a by-chance meeting with the publisher of the Lowell Sun (daily circulation of 50,000). I pitched a lifestyle column for the paper, and after showing him my work, he gave me a weekly column for the paper.

My writing projects quickly turned into an 8-year relationship with the Lowell Sun and a weekly full-page lifestyle article every Friday. My writings featured design and decorating tips, and one series of essays about a family trip to Greece became very popular. As a result of my down-to-earth personalized writing style, a local following grew and attracted the attention of the Huffington Post.

I was asked to be a contributing writer for the Huffington Post giving me a national audience that led to my creating a popular lifestyle blog. My blog is a reflection of my life. I write about interior design, travel, new products, gardening tips, favorite recipes, and more. A recent blog was a reflection on surviving cancer and celebrating 6-years cancer-free.

My two-decade-long love of writing has led me to author my first book. It is a highly personal look at my life as a designer and successful woman business owner. Interior Motives is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and major retailers.

It's all about the journey of building a successful interior design career and the lessons learned along the way.
