Funeral Home Interior Design and Remodel

A Cost-Effective Design For The The New Business Owner

Interior Designer Notes On This Funeral Home Project in Lawrence, MA

This was a complete interior design and remodeling project for a funeral home that has been a fixture in Lawrence, Massachusetts dating back to the 1900s.  The goal of the project was to give a modern look to the design of this dated funeral home.  The end result and desire were achieved by utilizing soft yellow for the wall color and shades of blue for the furnishings and window treatments. This project required removing old wallpaper, choosing paint colors, and developing a floor plan allowing services for as many as 120 people. Upholstered seating groupings were created, and custom window treatments that would tie in the French blue and gold speck commercial carpet were designed.

Some concessions were made to stay within the budget. We could not reveal the original tin ceiling underneath the existing drop ceiling due to all the wires and piping it was hiding. We presented the owner with design options and explained where best to allocate the interior design budget. The result is a new, more contemporary look and a pleased client.
